Hi!
You want this as wprdpress plugin, or a script that's gonna work completely outside wordpress(on its own)?
Usually the attachment posts titles are set to the filename of the uploaded file, though depending on how they are uploaded they sometimes are given human meaningful names instead. How would the code going to regard those latter ones(that have maningful titles, other than the file name)?
Also, how it's gonna act on the thumbnails wordpress had automatically created for any of the attachment uploads? The wordpress logic is to attach the 'widthxheight' to the filename, and this is how it later searches for these, when a particular size thumb is been asked for, for displaying and decided whether the particular size thumb exists or not.
Regarding the 'shorten' filename variation. How's this gonna be calculated - taking 'x' first characters of the filename(then how it should proceed if there's multiple having teh same firxt 'x' characters) or generate random strings of characters 'x'-characters long, taking care there's no duplication?
How would the script going to be initiated - manually, through some options page, wordpress cron events, other?
Kind Regards,
Dobri
