I need to reverse engineer a small Win32 executable that generates a serial number. I am interested only in the algorithm that generates the serial number, so you can ignore the GUI stuff. The deliverable should be C/C++ source code that compiles on MSVC6 to a command-line program that generates a new serial number when it is run. The source code must be reasonably well-documented to allow me to understand how the serial number was generated. How will I know whether the algorithm is accurate? I have another tool to verify whether the serial numbers generated are correct. Note #1: The executable is attached with the bid request. It is called "[login to view URL]" which unzips to a single file "[login to view URL]", which is the executable to be reverse-engineered. Note #2: To save everybody's time, I would like to filter out those guys who don't really have the required skillset to do this. Could you please submit with your bid the offset in the EXE file that contains the instructions for displaying the serial number after it has been generated (i.e. SetDlgItemTextA)? If you are really good at reverse engineering, this step should be trivial. For example, it took me less than 30 secs to locate the offset using OllyDbg. ## Deliverables 1) C/C++ source code that compiles on VS6/VS2005 to a command-line program that generates a new serial number when it is run. The source code must be reasonably documented to allow the reader to understand how the serial number was generated, not just a brute-force ASM-to-C/C++ translation. 2) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform Win2K/XP
