The idea is to incorporate a CPR face shield into a credit card shaped item. Designed for one time use, breakable but not to brittle. I have sourced out the face mask i would like to use or be designed off of. [login to view URL] The product will fit in the specifications required. I am assuming the product will need to be repackaged into a vacuum sealed shape in order to achieve the required thickness. The issues I have are: 1. The product will need to be vacuum sealed to protect it inside the mould 2. Which process is best to achieve on a manufacturing scale 3. What is the best plastic to use to achieve desired effect 4. Product will need to no thicker than 4mm 5. Product will need to be printable surface for marketing purposes My idea for the process is: Vacuum seal face shield into proper size -> place in credit card sized mould -> seal inside credit card sized mould Its very simple I assume, I am a paramedic by trade, not a designer. This is proof of concept/ Prototype Please contact me if you have any questions

Dear Sir/Madam, Firstly i must say I am very excited and interested in taking part in this project development. I am an internationally experienced industrial designer, primarily working through Asia in design consultancies. I am now based in Sydney Australia and in the early stages of beginning my own design consultancy. I have worked with clients from initial brief through conceptualisation and refinement, to 3 dimensional representation, both physical and virtual, to prototyping and manufacture. I appreciate your attempt in taking this product from a CPR face shield to the size of a credit card. I believe I know the exact current face shield you use, as I was a police officer in Sydney some years ago, and required to carry one at all times. Again, I would like to be part of your team to provide design input and development, in collaborating with you as the client, and me as an experienced industrial designer/mechanical engineer. I can provide a detailed outline of what I recommend is required for this process, or can briefly highlight the stages we can work through. I believe this project could have great potential and impact within not only the paramedic industries. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have, and I eagerly look forward to hearing from you in the near future. Thank you for your time and consideration. Kind regards, Jack Panayotou elemental design

Having worked extensively with First Aid training, as well as my time as a Volunteer Ambulance Officer, I can understand the need for this. I think it can be easily manufactured, the trick will be making the packaging secure, sterile and user friendly. I think instructions on one side, and a logo/description on the other? I think a foil package is the best, possibly with a plastic backing (for strength). Making the entire packaging plastic would compromise the sterility of the CPR mask. What are your thoughts? I have been thinking about this. A foil sealed sterile face mask hidden inside a credit card shaped package. Easily done

Hello firemedic87! Great project, and an interesting challenge! I am a fellow canadian working freelance in product design. and based in the Ottawa region. I have extensive experience (over 15 years) in product design in a wide range of fields, designing for manufacturing in so many different materials that I lost track! I would be really glad to help you with this project! The process you describe is definitely feasible with the right manufacturers and I have some ideas for that. There might also be other alternatives worth checking into that would differentiate your product at the same time, like a very thin molded part with creases that would make it foldable yet conforming the the patient's face once deployed (think origami) and in which your logo and other required infos could be imprinted right in the mold (shiny versus frosty texture, for example) to avoid secondary printing steps. Drop me a line if you are keen and we'll discuss our possible cooperation on this. Cheers! Simon
