Joomla module customization

I need customization of this joomla module: [login to view URL] I want to add a filter option when the data source selected is Joomla Category (com_content). The filter should have a toggle button ON/OFF and when ON is selected i want the module to display ONLY articles that match current %date and %month (ignore year). The goal is to be able and make this module work as a This Day in History tool so for example today 2021/10/17 i want to show every joomla article that was published on 17 of October during past years. After the project is over the freelancer should send me the editted files of the module.
