I posted on here a couple weeks ago with interest in hiring an illustrator for a board game project. (but we weren't sure what we were looking for yet) A little background here, my name is Thomas, I am a graphic designer, I currently work in Behavioral Health design, along with freelancing political design. I have illustration skills, but you can't match the exact vision all the time. The team I am working with are a group of creative thinkers from many backgrounds. We are looking for someone to illustrate for me elements to a board game. Specifically I need card backs and I need a board done. I have a style I have illustrated, but if I am won over, I might also hire for the board game cover. A total of maybe 4 illustrations. Note: I am a co-creator of the board game, I can provide as much information as needed.
Now, this is very much going to be on a budget. We are looking for an artist who is capable, and of course looking to get paid, but also be affordable. We understand that is not ideal for everyone and that is okay. For my freelance work, it is nice to jump on a really fun project sometimes so hopefully we fill that need for someone.
As for the style of the project, we are looking for a traditional tarot card style. Some describe it as Art Nouveau, which in a way it is, but also very Arts & Crafts. I will attach examples, but most people will probably understand what I mean. The colors very similar as well. We will be looking at portfolios and such as a team to figure out who is the best fit, if you think you can help, we'd love to hear from you.
