I am using Access VBA to manipulate Excel. In Excel I will have data similar to this 1.1.1.1.1.1 1.1.1.1.1.1 2.1.1.1.1.1 3.1.3.3.1.1 And I need the following steps performed 1) Get a unique list of the values 2) Sort the list ascending 3) Assign a alphabet letter to the values ---> like this 1.1.1.1.1.1 A 2.1.1.1.1.1 B 3.1.3.3.1.1 C so on and so forth - and they could repeat, meaning it goes to AA, BB, CC, or even as far as AAA, BBB, CCC. 4) Once the alphabet letter has been assigned to the list, perform a VLookup() to the original list so that original list (with duplicates) is updated to have the alphabet value assigned

I'll either create a new column and insert the decoded data or will replace the original content depending on your preference.
