I have a special design nut fastener a "permanent nut" (patent pending) and need Finite Element Anylsis(FEA) done on it. Attached is my fastener design in autoCAD 3D, 2D and pdf in size 1X8 American SAE and 1/2X13 pdf. My permanent nut is an all-metal, one-piece self locking nut that functions like "two nuts torqued down and welded together(TNTDWT)". It spins-on and installs like a conventional nut and has the same vibration resistance as TNTDWT. My permanent nut can be thought of as a conventional nut attached to a threaded conical washer, when the torque pressure builds the conical washer starts to flatten. When installed equal pressure/pre-compression exists on both sides of the washer. The difference is that the internal nut pressure/pre-compression is permanent like TNTDWT. I want to determine the minimum and maximum torque in foot/pounds for nut sizes 1X8 and 1/2"X13 in SAE American using the following standards: ASTM A563-Grade 0, ASTM A563-Grade A, ASTM A563-Grade B, ASTM A563-Grade C, ASTM A563-Grade C3, ASTM A563-Grade D, ASTM A563-Grade DH, ASTM A563-Grade DH3 ASTM A194-Grade 1, ASTM A194-Grade 2, ASTM A194-Grade 2H, ASTM A194-Grade 2HM, ASTM A194-Grade 4, ASTM A194-Grade 7, ASTM A194-Grade 7M, ASTM A194-Grade 8, ASTM A194-Grade 8M SAE J995-Grade 2, SAE J995-Grade 5, SAE J995-Grade 8 ----- All of the above standards have a specific material formula (steel, steel alloy). For example: 1X8 SAE Grade 2, torque minimum (to fully flatten cone washer) 80 ft/lbs., maximum torque 400 ft/lbs. In other words I will need the min. and max. torque for my permanent nut using the materials in the above standards in nut sizes 1X8 and 1/2X13. Please give me your cost and how long it will take you. I will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Thanks you.

Hello! I have a rich experience in FEA issues using Abaqus (please see my portfolio). As I understood your solution allow to create additional friction on contact surfaces of thread due to elastic forces (pressures) occurring in nut during its deformation under torque pressure (similar to spring washer effect). Am i right? I'm ready to make this job but i have few more questions. I want to get in touch with you to ask other questions. Please leave your e-mail address or try to contact with me by address – pishitesudamne (commercial at) mail (dot ) ru. Please do not assign me before i'll get all answers from you.
