Get Age Gate popup to work from any page on my squarespace site

I have a working Age Gate popup script on my website (asks to verify if you are 18+) before allowing access to the site. If you click yes it saves a cookie and then you don't have to verify again while that cookie is active. It works on any page on my site, IF you go to the default URL.. but then it doesn't work on any page if you click them from one of my links or navigation bar.. because squarespace adds a / to the end of the url. For some reason, the script will not run on any URL ending in / and I cannot figure out why. I need the script to popup from ANY page, especially if clicked from a search engine, etc. Should be a fairly simple fix (the script works.. just needs to be tweaked somehow).. but I don't know enough about Javascript (and how Squarespace manages pages) to make it work properly.
