I'm a mechanical engineer - specialized in the industrial robotic field, 3D designer and modeler (from time to time and some projects I could make the functional prototype too). I'm doing product design, industrial design, reverse engineering, ideation, etc. I have over 15 years experience working on various systems/devices across multiple industries, from concept to launch. 1 - what type of pump are you intend to use? diaphragm, peristaltic, piston (those are the most usual pumps used for aquariums) 2 - besides the type of pump and its characteristics (voltage, airflow, hose diameter) do you need the external design of the unit? - which is your preferred design style? 3 - usually with the pump is also sold the aerator (diffuser) - do you need this too - in order to be in the same design line?... 4 - how the pump should stay inside the aquarium? there are wall mounted (with suction cups) and bed placed (with or without flange/foot) - my advice for the design is to have the pump unit and accessories (mount for wall mounting and/or flange/foot) Regards Bogdan
