Heya! I am currently a crypto exchange developer, previously an airplane security system developer. The biggest database collaboration I've worked with was an airport system management db consisting of several hundred databases, each with 1-200 tables each, each with up to a few million records. The total records in the whole system would rank to somewhere above 10 Billion listings back in 2017 :)

Only MySQL is immediately changed to PostgreSQL, otherwise the database of 500 million records will not be able to be processed on MySQL. Each SQL server has its own scope. MySQL will work with 500 million records only in a commercial version, when the normal paid paid Oracle Enterprise is behind the syntax of free MySQL. Free MySQL with such large databases will not work at all in any way under any circumstances and there is no qualification of a programmer.
