Hello, I am trying to set up a Inmate Service for federal inmates serving time in the Bureau of Prisons. I am looking for assistance on two projects we would like to have worked on and I'm hoping you could help me. The BOP uses an email system called CorrLinks is a way for family and friends to communicate with their loved ones incarcerated in prison. Established through a relationship between a corrections agency and Advanced Technologies Group (ATG), this system allows family and friends to subscribe to CorrLinks services. ([login to view URL]) We want the system to allow inmates to send and receive in their Corrlinks account to/from a cellphone. We would like each inmate to get their own SMS phone number (thru Google Voice) for their loved ones to send and receive messages to/from. Essentially we want the email to get converted into a text message. The loved one will receive the phone number assigned to the inmate and will send a text message to that assigned phone number just as they would to any phone number as they do on a daily basis. When they send that text back to the inmate, thru Corrlinks it should be received as an email. That is the software we are looking for to be created. The email system the inmates within the Federal Bureau of Prisons use is only a messaging system, the inmates have no access to the internet. The inmates have to log into their system. If they want to send a text to a loved one, we want them to put in the subject box that the user will put the telephone number they are looking to send the message to. The main message box is where they would put they message they are sending. We are thinking along the lines of using Google Voice, which is a free service, where we can assign each inmate their own private phone number to. Once the inmate registers for the text service he will then receive an email with his own personalized phone number automatically assigned by Google Voice. When they send the email the system will then convert that message into a text message and send it to that phone number. The friend/family member can then reply as they do with any text message and send it back to the inmate which then will be converted back to an email format thru Corrlinks. I hope that is clear. We are looking for the best software written to ensure no technical issue once the program is written. There would be no character limit. We also would want it to suspend accounts and keep track of accounts since there will be many inmates subscribing to our service. With the system and those that want the service from us we would create an email address where all new accounts (inmates or friend/family member) would contact. There are services that are popping up within the BOP so we know it can be done.
