We have used an RShiny application at work which basically does the same thing. The user can enter parameters, and based on this, the R script goes off and pulls data from the database, and this is displayed in graphs. I live in New Zealand which is in the same time zone, and we should be able to talk to each other and solve any issues which might come up.
