An existing application base with a series of file import converters requires extension. These converters include VTK, COIN3D, AVS/Express, 3DS, etc., with sample C++ source code. Autodesk have made available a free C++ toolkit for accessing 3D DWF files. See [login to view URL] download site. We wish to have a new sample interface between 3D DWF Toolkit and our system, allowing import of 3D DWF files. Most data structures should map across, such as group objects, layers, points, lines, polygons, colors. Some entities, such as curves or freeform surfaces may need to be tessellated. If the 3D DWF Toolkit has tessellation routines, these should be used. If not, then some LGPL open source solution can be introduced. The resulting source code should build without errors or warnings on Windows XP, building against the latest version of the 3D DWF Toolkit and our current application code base. In addition, sample dwf files should be converted without error, with full representations of the original objects published in our new format. A temporary 30-day license key for using our library will be issued to allow development. Skills: Strong C++ programming experience, 3D Geometry, DXF, DWF, DWG Good systematic development skills, 3D mathematics and geometric transormation skills helpful, familiarity with 3D graphics APIs. Coder Project Request: 1. Download 3D DWF Toolkit package from Autodesk, agree to terms 2. Download 3D Application package from our website, agree to terms 3. Receive sample data files 4. Adapt code from one or more of our existing interfaces to call the 3D DWF API. 5. Document design, provide ample in-line source comments 6. Supply source ready to build out-of-the-box. 7. Document any features or issues of format incompatibility
