Backend Developer: Python and Django

Responsibilities *Architect and develop systems to meet technical, scientific, and business goals *Interact with development of mobile apps, web apps, and A.I. - based analytics *Design, implement, test, and maintain REST APIs *Craft robust QA systems to ensure product and data quality and reliability *Design schema and query optimization for databases (PostgreSQL, NoSQL) *Design and maintain required software version controls *Standardize processes to maintain clean, testable, well-documented code and logging *Encourage a culture of easy communications, honesty and collaboration; bring out the best in each individual Requirements *7+ years experience *History of effectively collaborating with key stakeholders *Passion for clean, well-documented code, and writing maintainable and testable code for scalable teams *Extensive Python 3/Django skills in server-side API, business logic, and workflow management *Strong understanding of CS fundamentals, Object Oriented Design and Data Structures *BS, MS or PhD in CS or equivalent field (preferred) *Experience working at an early stage startup (preferred) *Experience successfully launching consumer products (preferred) *Experience with building versioned Django Rest Framework API endpoints *Strong emphasis on modern Python and Django best practices *Experience in designing OOP application architecture *Experience with Celery and distributed task best practices (AMQP experience a plus) *Data processing experience (PANDAS, numpy, strong list comprehension skills) a plus
