Hello - I have an excel file on my virtual machine running Windows 2008, machine doesnt have excel, that updates every 15 minutes. The challenge I have is this machine doesnt have excel (something to do with volume licensing) and the file downloads in proected view so when I try to load this file to Power BI none of the data loads. I need a script to open this in excel online and save the file or another way to disable protected view without a) excel or b) the file opening prior to loading to Power BI. Or an inexpensive way to get excel on my Azure VM

I see that what you need may prove to be quick-and-easy job with some script... it depends, if the protection can be by-passed opening the contents with a script and saving them again, unprotected? I could do some quick check about this case if you can provide with sample file! I would prefer to do it easily using Python, if you don't have any problem of course!

Hi, This is just for your information that Excel online is only to open a small sized files like inside 5Mb. It doesn't support more that. I think, there might be some way to do this later if I understand it completely. Thanks Saravana
