Build a small gradebook

I'd like to have an ASP.NET page built to display Student Grades in the form of a traditional gradebook using either the gridview control or handsontable spreadsheet. I would need the page to pull data from an SQL database, have the coulmn headers as assignments, left column & rows as student names and the cells under header rows would display Student Grades. From this same view, id like the user to be able to click into a gridview cell and edit the cell contents inline and upon the value being changed, the dataset get updated.
