Product Variations in Bigcommerce

Due to the nature of my products, I offer several variations on my products. For example, when a customer picks a shirt, they get to choose the style/cut, size, and color. What I'm wanting (hopefully it is actually possible) is for the variation options to adjust based on their selection. Ie: Someone could choose Fitted shirt -> M -> coral. But if they selected Unisex Tee -> M -> the color coral would NOT appear as an option, but the colors that are available in that style shirt would be there. I'm just not sure if assigning option rules is the best way to go about it, or managing the inventory via SKUs and "hiding options", or if there is some HTML code thing that would streamline the whole process. Please help!
