simple email tracking PHP

I meed a PHP script on my site so when I send emails containing a link to an image, when someone open it it triggers a POST to another site with the image name as parameter. (My other site is ready to receive and evaluate the POST, I am just not familiar with PHP)
There is a solution in github, just needs to call a POST to my other site:

1 - The php and other files if needed
2 - Step-by-step instruction how to install this on a hosting site (I already have wordpress running there)
