Save data in textbox to MySQL from website using plain PHP code

I have a very very small website that allows people to sign up and register for a class. Everything is set and working fine. We just added one new column called Amount, we need to be able to allow the secretary to make changes to the amount and save it for a that row. See attached screen shot of what we are trying to save. I will give you FTP access to files, you only need to update [login to view URL] and maybe saveamount.php.
