Hi there,
There are 2 php projects which run in php7, but not in php8, and they must be adapted. Both are about holiday apartment booking and calendar. See attachments. Some skills of german should helpful but not really necessary.
ZIBEPLA
(abbrev. "Zimmerbelegungsplan") is a simple database driven booking calendar. Users can see which days are booked or not booked. The administrator has a simple backend where he/she can check the booked days. There is no login page or user administration but a simple link leading to the admin page.
HACKMECK
This is a calendar with booking system. There is a demo page on [login to view URL] Sorry it is in german only. In the zip there is an english [login to view URL] file with the most important descriptions.
The features of the frontend:
A calendar for every holiday object with booked/not-booked days. By clicking on the calender users can request a booking for a period for that object. This request will be sent by e-mail to the admin, and the data is entered into the database as a booking request.
The features of the backend (admin):

An admin can confirm a request to a booking and send a confirmation email to the user. This will be stored in the database. He/she can create a new holiday object (Neues Objekt anlegen) with its specific properties (name, max persons, max dogs, price per day), the system will create an Iframe html code for that calendar on a website. An admin can also adjust some settings: Calendar display, email settings, email target address, create user (name, email, password for login), email text modules
WHAT IS TO BE DONE?
You should install both systems on your system. 2 databases need to be created first.
The ZIBEPLA installation is self explaining: you have to enter the database properties into the php file and run it. If the tables are not created by themseves, you create them by sql commands (see [login to view URL])
With HACKMECK there is an english [login to view URL] file where you can find all basic information of installation and system.
Check and play with the features in php 7.x. All should be working.
Change to php8. Both systems will not work anymore. There is an error message with Zibepla, and Hackmeck does not show a calendar.
I cannot say how many commands are depreciated and have to be adapted and how much work this will be. Maybe it is a fast thing in both systems, maybe not.
I expect ALL features of both systems are working in my php8. You do not need to do GUI improvements.

The code for both systems is for free use, even in adapted form (CC-BY-SA), as we can read and in the help files and on the hackmeck website. I have a written confirmation about this from the hackmeck developer. Meaning: you may also publish the resulting code if you name the originator.

Now we noticed with php8 this is not running any more. As I do not know php I need some help.
All features are already there and most of them need not be touched. There is no big money behind us. If you like I will name you on every page where the code will be implemented.
There is no use to bide fast or even automatically without reading the texts. Please place your bid only after looking into the details. I will wait until february, 4th with awarding the project. This will be done after costs, your php experience, and my impression of your qualitative reliability .
My time schedule is until end of february. The last step will be the test of your source code on my php8 environment.
