Create actionscript 2 widget for chatblazer

I need a widget building for chatblazer. The chatblazer desktop widget is actionscript 2. info here [login to view URL]
I want the widget to pull data from an excel file refreshing that data every time the excel file is saved. (If a link to excel is not possible then another suggested solution may be acceptable, similarly if pulling data each time the file is saved is not possible then another solution maybe considered)
The data will be numbers and text. I'm not sure of the formatting functionality of the chatblazer widget, but I would like to have the text displayed with different colors/font sizes if possible. If I could change the appearance from the excel/another file then that would be perfect.
The project is slightly vague as I don't know the full functionality of the widget. But I essentially want the widget to display data from another file.
