this project is for an office intranet site and customer portal.
the site will be based around Joomla 2.5. I think Joomla! would be great for this project because of its great user access control features and the available extensions on the Joomla! marketplace. I already own all the extensions from [login to view URL] and several others. Not to mention the fact that Joomla! runs on MySQL so the customer and employee database will be simple to start and pull data from. Joomla's backend administration panel will be obviously for editing a website code and adding and removing users. The front end of the websites be for employees and customers. user rights will determine who sees what.
1. Reoccurring payment system and integration with API.
I already use RS Joomla! forms Pro to create a customer input form for the sales rep/customer service rep. so all of the basic customer information including payment dates, credit card,, routing, account number, shipping address, billing address etc. is already dropped into the MySQL database. so I need the system to automatically set up a reoccurring payment schedule and automatically trigger on those dates. (remember that there are plenty of existing extensions on the marketplace to do reoccurring payments for PayPal etc. I'm sure all we have to do is alter some of the code and connect it to the existing API) right now I am more focused on the employees side to manage the customers information and have the ability to alter payment dates as well as add customer notes, edit customer data, etc. (a customer profile if you will)
Reports: I will need to see reports based on payment date future/past/present. but creating reports should be fairly easy since we are pulling all the information from the database. (I will also need a lots of custom reports made but we will execute those based on priority)
The main idea of this website is to have a one-stop shop for my employees to search and view all of the customer data, edit and change payment dates, automatically send out contracts to the customers e-mail, preferably a link that takes the customer back to our website that has all of their data prefilled out in their contract so that they can e-sign, etc. I would also like the customer to be able to login and view their payment history, later I would like to add in UPS label print button for customer service to easily be able to create a label based on the customer's shipping address. The customer will also be able to view their tracking information by logging into their account.
This is just a start of what I am trying to accomplish. I know this may look like a lots but I do believe that by using Joomla as the backend CMS it will help bend a lots of corners for us and not to mention all of the extensions that can help us. not to mention the growth potential of these combined applications.
I already have a site up and ready to go. I will clone the site and give you superuser access. obviously I would like to cut this up into sections and make payment arrangements on a weekly basis to the freelancer. Of course I will be out you to betray the vision that I'm looking for and if everything works out accordingly I would like to start a full-time partnership with the programmer to constantly edit and alter the site for me and my management team.
My office is currently using QuickBooks and although I do like QuickBooks I have never been satisfied with a closed source application. There's just too many custom pieces to our company that we are being forced to use multiple programs to keep track of customer data.
As far as payment, I am on a budget. my partners are much older than I am so it is hard to get them to pay for change...lol but I would like to start out at a $100 or so a week until phase 1 of the project is finished. obviously we can grow from here!
Please remember that once they see what we have accomplished I will be able to raise the budget without question.
