Docent Corp. with a lineage of 15 years from its sister company Culturetech, Inc. is a high tech company specializing in software and hardware development for cultural and commercial spaces. We are starting a new startup in the US and looking for an enthusiastic IT business developer in the Los Angeles Area.

We have a good team of engineers and have been providing ticketing systems and reservation systems for sports, performing arts, leisure facilities, museums, and commercial spaces past fourteen years serving more than 400 clients including governments and corporations in Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Azerbaijan.

We have expanded our business to IPS (Indoor Positioning System) in 2013. IPS is considered as the next big industry to emerge due to the limitation of GPS in indoor spaces. There's no technology in the market that is claiming dominance for IPS.

Our patented systems enable accurate positioning of a person or a device in indoor spaces where GPS signals can't reach or isn't precise enough. Our products include personal tracking system using wearable tags, indoor positioning systems for customers, indoor mapping tools, kiosks, and mobile applications utilizing our proprietary hardware devices and content management systems.

Our clients may include supermarkets, hospitals, warehouses, shopping malls, museums, airports, parking lots, underground facilities, etc.

Focus Areas

Our focus areas are any facilities that require indoor navigation systems or indoor tracking systems. There is only a handful of companies in the world who have their own proprietary technologies with regards to IPS and Indoor Map Platforms. Most companies use technologies open to public such as beacons, Wi-Fi, and static maps.

The original patent for our high-precision IPS (Indoor Positioning System) was filed before the iBeacon was launched. We have recently acquired US Patent for our IPS. Our IPS can provide ten times higher accuracy than Wi-Fi or Bluetooth beaconing devices which can give you up to 100 foot margin of error or position you on a wrong floor.

Responsibilities

As a Business Developer, you will identify potential clients, engage prospects, and close deals. You will be responsible for planning and organizing your day, including communicating with staff and agents in other regions such as South East Asia and the Middle East, proposal writing, making presentations, and prospecting for new clients in order to ensure productivity and achievement of goals.

Requirements

- Ability to meet sales goals

- US Citizen or Permanent Resident

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent job experience

- Experience in selling IT solutions in a B2B environment is a plus

- IT technical knowledge, a plus (Product / technical sales knowledge will be provided)

- Strong phone prospecting skills, negotiation skills, and ethics

- Computer literacy; proficient in Microsoft Office and familiarity with Internet

- Compose proposals to prospects

- Build an exciting team and boost morale of regional staff

- Maintain records of all account activity of the region on our database

- Deep appreciation for process, performance measurement, and result-oriented approach

- Creativity in suggesting new strategies

Payment

Pay is negotiable. Payment will be given according to number of successful appointments/proposals with potential clients. Budget for two-month span is $2,000.
