Adjustment to jQuery mobile "range slider"

I have a jQuery range slider that I have customized visually. I just need a small fix:

I want the range slider's handle to be invisible (i.e. visibility: hidden;) until the user clicks or touches the slider track. Then, the handle becomes visible ([url removed, login to view]: visible).

From there, the handle functions as is normal with jQuery mobile's range slider widget.

I am using the "slider" widget.
