Need someone to scan and categrorize about 2000 photos from assortment of negs and prints of various sizes.
Scan negs and slides at 2000dpi min and photos at 600 dpi
Categorize based on content.
prefer USA but if not, location must be able to send and receive by UPS.
Payment is made at end of job by escrow.
Scanning: Every scan must be dust free. While some of the negatives have scratches, dust is not acceptable. Therefore you will need to air blow or wipe negs if dust is on them.
Clarification.
Scanning for negs/slides =3000 dpi (10.9MB)
Scanning for prints = 300Dpi
Min bits=24
There are semi automated methods of scanning which will speed up the process.
Categorization:
Each photo must be categorized using keyowrds that are stored in the EXIF part of each image usuing standard IPTC metadata. This is simply the keywords that are added to each photo to categorize them based on the content of the photo.
You can do this easily using Image info toolkit, Adobe Photoshop(get info), Picassa (free) or iPhoto.
Specific tools to edit metadata are http://www.picturefinder.com/software/iit/welcome.html
If using iPhoto you must use the Tagging plug-in for Flickr.com.
Every photo must have a standard keyword based on what you visually see in the photo.
If there is one person in the photo. The keywords are person, portrait.
If there is a group of people, the keyword is people.
You also need to describe the objects in the picture.
If there is a person on a mountainside, then keywords are person, portrait, mountain
Its pretty simple. And I am only looking for basic keyword description.
After scanning and keywording you will need to have two copies of the photo. One Hi-res and one lo-res. This can be done automatically in some software tools.
Deliverables:
DVD with hi-res photos
DVD with lo-res version of these photos (72 DPI max 90kb)
Returned negs/slides/photos
I will provide DVDs as required.
I pay post and packaging both ways
Clarifications:
The number of images to be scanned may exceed 2000. Final number be double that. You will be payed pro-rata for each additional. For example if your bid is $200 then each additional scan and keywording is 10c.
