Contest Brief

OBJECTIVE: Redesign the JDoodle website (https://www.jdoodle.com/ ) + IDE for a fresh, innovative, and user-friendly experience tailored to developers and programmers.

PRIZES:

Phase 1:
-->Top 5 winners: $500 USD each (Total prize purse: $2,500)
-->Opportunity to speak directly to the CEO of JDoodle
-->Invitation to participate in Phase 2

Phase 2 (will be separate contest):
-->Total prize purse: $7,500
-->Grand Prize winner: $3,000

Contest Timeline: Phase 1 submission deadline: May 16th

Note: Only top 5 winners + 5 additional invitees will be able to participate in phase 2.

Additionally all of the top 10 candidates will be invited to a Q&A session with the CEO of JDoodle Gokul. C.

CHALLENGE BRIEF:
Welcome to the JDoodle Design Mastermind Quest! We are looking for talented and visionary designers to help us revamp the JDoodle website, creating a modern, visually appealing, and highly functional platform that caters to the needs of developers and programmers.

Your mission is to create a new design concept for the JDoodle website, considering elements such as usability, aesthetics, and responsive design. The website should showcase JDoodle's features and tools effectively, and inspire confidence in users as they navigate the platform.

REQUIREMENTS:
--> Original design concepts for the JDoodle homepage (cool, funky, latest design trends, needs to look more visually attractive and functional compared to other online programming platforms and IDEs)
--> Intuitive navigation and user interface tailored to developers and programmers
--> Responsive design for seamless experience across devices
-->Clear enhanced readability
-->A brief explanation of the design concept and the benefits of the design choices to the target user group. Can be submitted in pdf


JUDGING CRITERIA:

Submissions will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

--> Visual appeal and innovation
--> User experience and usability
--> Responsiveness and adaptability across devices
--> Relevance to the needs of developers and programmers
--> Quality and clarity of the design rationale
--> Clearly expresses features of JDoodle (mention features in write up so we can evaluate your understanding of the platform)

    Interesting contest, but is INFESTED with cheap, free, overused vector stock/page design from shutterstock.com and the like .... bad news is some cheap free stuff might win ( as frequently happens ) so it becomes not so interesting ;(

      I kind of agree, but I also have a feeling that the contest holder is a sensible person since they're asking us to explain our design decisions. There's a chance that whoever designs this website with a good UX in mind while also keeping a good UI might win.
