Dual Smart Card Reader
This circuit is used in the food and beverage industry for paying the products. The circuit is based on the Microchip Smart Card Chip SEC1210 which has USB and SPI interfaces. The circuit can be powered from a 5V barrel connector or an USB2 interface. The board can automatically select the power interface using a power multiplexer. It is equipped with two smart cards. One is a SIM card from Amphenol and the other is a 2FF Mini SIM card from TE. The board also has an SPI to UART interface chip. Utility headers were used for SPI and UART interfaces and also for power. My responsibilities were to design the entire system circuitry, to create the schematics, schematic library, footprint library and layout the board.
