The following supply chain issues occurred at Ford as soon as it pursued its new strategy to improve its supply chain process: It focused on decreasing the number of suppliers it dealt with through direct interaction and focused on developing relations with “tier one” suppliers, who had supplier’s base working under them. The “tier one” supplier were not capable enough to invest in technology as Ford and thus, this decreased the rate of using modern technology among suppliers working for them.
