I have significant experience in both backend and frontend design of Qt desktop applications using C++. I have created two of my own programs: one to help analyze FRST virus logs and the other to perform both file/folder synchronization tasks as well as general local data backup (see resume for details). I have an edge in this field over most programmers stemming from 11 years of experience in the field of IT as a computer hardware/software technician, giving me the ability to design programs for both computer savvy individuals and complete novices. I know exactly what IT specialists look for in a program to cater to both simplicity of interface and granularity of control. I also am proficient in scripting and am familiar with C#, Objective C, Python, Ruby, Perl, Java, SQL, AWK, Regular Expressions, and Visual Basic. I am not just another programmer clone with a similar background but no distinguishing qualities. I have a unique skill set which differentiates me from the crowd.
