I worked as an English teacher in France for over 30 years and my experience got close to bilingual after a one-year stay in the UK as a French assistant and then a personal relationship with a British native for several years. Although I didn't train for translation, it has always been my favourite language activity and I have already carried out some occasional translating missions for some people.
