batch file to rename files

Hello It looks as elementary task can be completed in couple of hours. One question about "rename the FILES to be the same name as the PARENT folder" Does every folder contain only single file? What if parent directory contains more than 1 file? Thanks

I am writing batch files almost every day and can make this one for you. However, "rename the FILES to be the same name as the PARENT folder" is doable only if there is only one file (including extension) in subfolder, so I'm not sure if that's what you need. Thanks for reading my proposal.

I did it ^_^ Yes, I searched for that and made the required batch file. It first asks you for root folder, then iterates recursively to rename all files inside all sub folders. I tested it to make sure it is working as expected, and took some screenshots to send them to you :) It will be a pleasure working with you in this project ^_^

For this I have already written numerous Windows bat files to sort and rename images. Alternatively, I could also offer a solution in C ++ as Exe file. Can do it with just a simple .bat script. Are there many files in each folder? Should the script keeps file's extension?
