Hello As this is post version - 2 I'm guessing you've been told either it can't be done using the CMD prompt or you need to use MSQL Management studio or a custom PS, VBS, c# etc etc. This is not strictly true but does require the Microsoft SQL Software developer kit to be installed on the workstation to enable access to the SQLCMD command line utility that can be used in .bat files with .sql scripting files to connect to SQL Server instances and execute the scripts.. I fact I use this myself on my windows 10 tablet if I'm out and about if I need to check anything odd on our databases as the tablet doesn't have enough spare space to load the full Studio tool Please feel free to message me if you'd like me to create any specific bat files to execute your sql commands. I don't think you'll even have to let me have your passwords/server instances as the bat files I use are fairly generic and can pass the parameters from the bat call to the sqlcmd format I have time today and tomorrow (UK) to do this for you Regards Alan Sheppard

Dear Sir/Madame, The key of writing batch files which interrogates MS SQL Server Databases is a small utility which is a component of SQL Server Installation Suite, mainly: sqlcmd -U myLogin -P myPassword -S MyServerName -d MyDatabaseName -Q "query" You can play with this utility from Command Prompt, to test your queries. The data acquisition was fully automated by daily updates from distributors data getting more than 100k records daily. All this was done using automated ETL and SQL batch files.
