Project-Based WordPress web developer

This is a project-based position with the opportunity to lead to a full-time position for the right candidate.

The successful applicant must be available during Australian business hours. While having other freelance/part-time job(s) is okay, we do need the successful applicant to be available during the day (Australian business hours).

Responsibilities

We have a project-based/freelance, home based position going for an experienced front end developer specialising in Wordpress.

Established 10 years ago and based in Australia, we provide high quality web sites.

This work from home (day shift) position will keep you interested building a diverse range of web sites

Tasks include:

- Converting provided design mock ups to fully functional websites

- Code and implement WordPress websites, layout HTML / CSS custom themes

- Woocommerce integration

- Install and tweak existing WordPress plug ins

- Conduct comprehensive browser testing

Requirements

To be successful in this role you will need to have the following skills and attributes:

- PSD to HTML / CSS (expert level)

- 3 + years experience WordPress

- Able to work to time budgets

- HTML5

- Responsive / mobile sites

- Design skills are not required however a solid working knowledge of Photoshop is essential.

- Woocommerce experience an advantage but not essential

- Experience with PHP MVC development frameworks an advantage but not essential

Your general skills need to include:

• Minimum 3 years proven commercial experience

• Good English communication skills

• Must have a habit of testing and debugging.

• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities

• Hardworking and dedicated in achieving the best quality standards by proofing own work

• Willing to work from home
