I’m Thomas from ML Components. We are international distributors of electronics components, hard to find and obsolete parts. The company is headquartered in Germany but we also have a subsidiary in Malta (BD Electronics). ML Components is mostly orientated to international sales and BD Electronics focuses more on recruiting interns and staff. Currently we are working on email marketing and cold calls and we would like to know your professional opinion in developing website with easy navigation operation. We had shared some idea from our perspective and also added our competitor websites . These details can be updated manually by an administrator. no Our website currently: - [login to view URL] is the website currently. - We are happy if you either redesign the current website or create a completely new website. The current website does not use a CMS, only a database (except for the blog page which is based on Wordpress). What we want our website to achieve: - To advertise 5 million products, business to business. Similar to [login to view URL] where they have many different specification fields per product. - Products should be in categories, possibly with sub-categories. - Products should be able to have a field for notes, which is only used for internal information. - Products should have photos, prices and stock levels, as well as description and specification. However, in some cases, 1 or all of these details may not be available. o In the case where there is no price – send us a request. o In the case where there is no stock level – place order anyway. - A customer can order on the website directly. We receive an email with PDF details about the order. Customer receives email with PDF ProForma invoice for payment. - Payments will be by bank transfer only. We need a way to mark orders as paid or unpaid. The system should be built keeping in mind that we may add other payment methods in the future. - LongTail SEO capability – our customers normally buy with us 1 time only. They will find our site when they enter a part number in Google. Example part number is ‘ELM 4-380’. We want our website to appear when part numbers are entered into Google. - Website Content: we can do ourselves: if you have advice regarding the content we place on the website let us know - Multiple Languages: we will have our website in multiple languages. Product discriptions/values in fields won’t change, but the field names and rest of the text on the site will. - Web Development and Design: Please quote how much to build website. (price per hour/hours to complete project -OR- flat rate) - Support/Maintenance: How much support will be provided after the website will be built? Does this include maintenance? What are the costs for additional support/maintenance/adaptations which is not covered in the cost of building the website? - What programming languages, management systems and other tools do you intend to use to build this website? - Website should be fast to reduce bounce rates and for better customer satisfaction.

Hi. I'm a programmer from Russia with strong skills in Python. You can see the full list of my skills on my profile page. I've read the description of the task and took a look at your website. I can offer the following: 1. I use Django and Flask frameworks to develop web applications. I work with full stack of technologies from back end to front end. 2. The back end includes a server. I suggest to use a Linux server because Windows will cost you additional money. I'm an Ubuntu user and offer to use Debian or Ubuntu. Debian is considered to be more stable, but Ubuntu includes newer versions of programs. 3. Databases and Python server code (Django or Flask). I offer to use PostgresQL. It's an industrial and free database that provides good scalability and performance. I use SQLAlchemy as ORM to increase speed of development, but I can work with plain SQL queries too. Maybe I'll need to use some NoSQL database like MongoDB to store photos of your products and similar stuff. 4. The front end includes HTML5/CSS3 and Javascript. I usually don't use third-party Javascript libraries, therefore my code runs fast. I use responsive web design paradigm, so a web page should change its layout depending of a device (desktop, tablet or phone). 5. HTTP server. I suggest to use Nginx.
