Background: This project doubles as a search for writers to add to my regular roster, as I have a lot of content to produce both in the short and long-term. Here, I will explain what I'm looking for at a high level. The attached document explains the details about this particular piece of work. I am content producer at Freelancer.com, where we are building an extensive library of SEO-focused blog posts on topics related to all the projects and businesses you can build by hiring freelancers to help. Examples include: https://www.freelancer.com/articles/data-entry https://www.freelancer.com/articles/graphic-design/why-your-business-needs-a-logo https://www.freelancer.com/articles/seo-marketing What the posts are NOT: These are NOT keyword-stuffing, novice-level blurbs aimed at gaming the search algorithms. What the posts ARE: These are professionally-written, helpful and engaging posts that use SEO research to help us expertly answer consumer questions. Who I’m searching for: I have plenty of work to assign, so I am looking for regular writers who are: - Proficient in written English - Eager to learn and grow as the workload grows - Are able to research a complex topic, understand it, and write about it for a lay audience’ - Love the craft of writing. I’m after real writers, not people who simply list it as a skill to gain jobs. What I need: Until I find writers I trust, I will provide a lot of the research up-front, and all you have to do is follow instructions. For example, I will send you a list of articles you can use for reference, a list of keywords we need to target, an outline for the post and a description of what I want covered in each section. For future projects, I may offload some of that legwork onto you. A note on quality: It’s no secret that dozens of sites create content to rank for certain terms, and that many of the top ranking articles all start looking and sounding the same. This is normal and to be expected, since people are constantly learning from each other and improving their output. Our content is no different, and will often look and appear like other content in some ways. However, this is not an excuse to plagiarise or merely copy existing work. Plagiarism and mediocrity will not be tolerated! The way we avoid sounding too much like existing content is to make it better in every single way we can: identify missing sections and add those sections; identify places where the descriptors are vague and make those points clear; have better infographics and images; have a more logical flow to our headers; etc. What the future holds: As I mentioned, I have plenty of work to assign. In addition to these blog posts, we are also working on “Ultimate Guides”, which are usually longer, heavier on the research and pay a little more. I don't see things slowing down any time soon, so hopefully you’re willing to stick around and give it your best!
