I require a SQL database setting up.
It should have a reasonable looking front end.
The database is to be populated on a daily basis using two csv files.
There is a requirement to perform a calculation against the CSV ‘s before the data is committed to the database.
The subject being stored is the result of horse races.
The winner of the race is given a numerical rating by myself.
In every race a horse is allotted a certain weight to carry.
A calculation by deducting or adding 1 point for every 1 pound (imperial measurement) that each of the other runners behind the winner carried in weight is to be done.
The distance that the beaten horses is also to be calculated into a figure and further deducted against the winners winning figure/rating.
This calculation will require a lookup due to the fact that over the different distances a race may be run over the ratio between weight and gap between each horse varies. A length of a horse is considered about 3 to 4 pounds/points over a 5 furlong distance. I use 3.5 and please see the spreadsheet attached for a full listing.
There are 2 forms of racing Flat racing and with obstacles such as fences or hurdles this is called Jumps racing. There is a different scale to lookup for these two codes of racing.
The following Tables would be required.
One for the race event
One for the individual runners performance. So there would be common link between these two.
Though you may want to split the tables further for Horse Trainer Jockey.
A copy of the two CSVs also attached. These are a full week of races rather than a daily.
MainId in the details references the ID column in Main.csv. In the Main ID the winners rating is in the last column.
The Front end should have a button to access the [login to view URL] to fetch the rating. Then Calculate the ratings for all runners. Finally a button to load the [login to view URL] into the database, then load the [login to view URL] into the database.
There should also be an area to enter a horses name, press a button and bring back details of that horses past performances.
I expect all the code to be available afterwards to myself as I should be able to make minor changes.
