Python project. Using ftp, XML automation

1) Develop a program that can download your D&H catalog from the FTP Ours has 4 files: ITEMLIST, DISCOLIST, CATLIST, and TRACKING (ITEMLIST is the most interesting) 2) Develop a program that can reference DB database for any D&H item and use the XML link to obtain current pricing and availability Requires access to SQL database. Use programming language of choice. Should only use SELECT commands with the database. The program itself is simple. When downloading the XML data, I stored the results in a csv file for later analysis/reference. 3) Develop a program or method for determining which items should have their price updated in your database (I have used an excel document to do so, however I will develop a program later) This can use a combination of the results from tasks (1) and (2). Determine a good/optimal update interval based off of run-time / D&H update frequency (daily, weekly, biweekly, etc…)? This can be used to give yourself a competitive edge with pricing 4) If an item is on sale, flag it and notify the user/team of its end date (Built into the aforementioned excel document) A simple continuation of (3)
