I am building a financial application that will get financial data in REST API from a website, process the data, and then make trading decisions to either, buy or sell an investment. This will be a multi-part project broken down into small projects (milestones), where each portion will be created and the code will be explained to me my team. We do have experience in Java, but not working with third party APIs. The link to the financial data and information can be found at:

Project Milestones/ Projects will be:
1.) Build the basic structure of the application that will connect to the financial company, and display basic account information. Then you will have to explain the code for this portion.
2.) Take financial information (opening price, closing price, high, low price, etc.) and save the data to a mySQL database on regular intervals...every minute, every hour, etc. Then you will have to explain the code my team.
3.) Create interfaces to test trading algorithms historical data from the data base. The interface must have visual output (HTML, JSP page) to display the information in a browser, to include a table with all open and closed trades, and profit and loss information for each trade. Then you will have to explain the code my team. This interface must be easy to use.
4.) Create an interface to test trading algorithms with live data from the API. 5.) Finally, take an existing project using Java EE and convert it from JAVA API to REST API. This project is already built, but it just needs a wrapper to convert REST API data.

I have worked on several 3rd party API's like ib(interactive brokers), Truefx and others. Written feeder engine in java to backtest algorithms on historical data. Also worked on some machine learning to analyze incoming data and make decisions on that.
I have backend experience much, so I will not able to deliver the front-end stuff in HTML or JSP, but I can make it work in JavaFX (Desktop app) , if you want.
