Lisp routine to place block from (comma delimited) .csv file. The .csv will have the name of the block, (X) coordinate, (Y) coordinate and attributes. The number of attributes will vary per block a range from 1 to 20. The .dwg will not have the source blocks in it. All the source blocks will be in a separate .dwg in different location that can be routed through AutoCad support files. I am open to discussion and suggestions.

Hi The lisp for importing blocks from csv is not complicated at all. Importing the block definition is a little bit tricky, considering it should be flexible, to allow selecting any dwg source, at any time, but it can be done. I can do the job. I suggest using Excel and VBA, it's much more powerful and flexible than LISP. An excel sheet with embedded macro would interact with .csv files and Autocad, the sheet will have all configuration parameters (files location, files to process, or just process active autocad drawing, etc.) I’m a Mechanical Engineer with lots of experience in mechanical design and 2d, 3D drawing in Autocad. Also, have advanced working experience in Autocad automation via VBA (excel, because VBA not available after Autocad 2000) and VB.net. Proficient coder in VB.Net, C#, Python, VB6.
