My name is Michael and I am in the process of starting a new business, a full-service 3D Photography and Videography Production Company offering immersive multimedia marketing platforms, engaging and interactive live events, and a new benchmark in cinematic experiences. I have been working on this plan for a couple months now and hope to do a soft-open around May/June this year.
This winter I purchased a 3D camera that is capable of 3D-scanning or "mapping" the interior of any structure while also taking 360° HD photos (inside and outside). The end result after scanning and editing produces so many different media formats - from CAD blueprints with measurements (accurate within 1%), to a stunning 360° tour featuring interactive content, and an immersive Virtural Reality walk-through. The market is quickly expanding to see the application of this technology expand well beyond initially the Real Estate Industry and into retail and restaurants, attractions, construction/engineering/architecture, education, and so much more.
The theoretical timeline is:
Year 1-3 establish business as premier VR production house in WI - go after as much of this type of client (still-frame capturing) possible regionally and statewide. Do 2nd round investing (bank loan/SBA/investors/company profit? = Expand = invest in equipment and office equipment). Hire employees.
Year 2-3 plan out transition strategy and 3rd round investing. Determine niche market in VR industry to align with. Develop budget and seek 3rd round investment.
Year 3-5 determine future vitality of real estate marketing side of business = keep operating/sell/ ?? Begin full-scale VR production facility in niche market.
OK, so lofty ideas and plans set side - I could really use some help with market research.
COMPETITION
I would like to go fairly deep into researching my competition and many related industries. I want to know everything - location, contacts, names, # of emp and demographics, services offered, gross/net sales, marketing budget, pricing (full breakdown), payment = when is it required and methods accepted, website quality, social media presence, etc. I am serious - I want to know as much as I can about them - county by county in all of Wisconsin plus a list of at least 20 destination locations. (I have a list of NAICS #s for about 10 industries I'd like to include.)
CUSTOMERS
I am anticipating most sales will be B2B. I am interested in getting information on Real Estate firms (residential and comercial), VRBOs, Relocation Services, Condominium Management Associations, Hotels/BnB/AirBnB, Architecture/Construction/Engineering firms/companies, historical sites/attractions/museums/places of interest.
Here again I would like some detailed information - specifically from the Real Estate industries - information about their agents, demographics, activity level, web/social, average sold price, # of houses represent on average, % above $100K, $150K, $200K, $300K, $500K, $1M (depending on area), **photography service - As Much Info As Possible -who does it (in-house / hired out - independent contractor or company), rates, services, activity, etc. {{For Real Estate firms working with Matterport Service Rep = what are the results you are seeing = % more listings won, prepared buyers, sight-unseen full-price offers, average list time (decrease?), etc.}}
Same thing goes for locations here.
INVENTORY
This one is pretty easy - I just need some raw data on population, demographics and housing (size and price). Locations same.
I would like to have all of this neatly organized in Excel format.
