Is questioning "the highest things" a benefit or a harm/corruption?

n the Euthyphro, we saw Socrates questioning Euthyphro's understanding of "the pious" and "the holy." But we also saw Socrates questioning the nature of God and holiness, which brings his questioning a lot closer to home, as we probably all have our understanding of God and holiness. In the Apology, Socrates argues that questioning "the highest things," which includes the nature of God, the nature of justice, of holiness, etc., is beneficial both to individual and city, over and against Athens, which believes that questioning these things is the greatest harm. Please examine and discuss this question, using as your textual foundation EITHER the Euthyphro OR the Apology, but bringing in to the discussion also a real life example--either from your own life, or from the social or political world around us. For your discussion, you want to explore and develop BOTH what the text shows and what the real life examples embodies and shows. After you have presented and analyzed both, you then want to drive your discussion toward a conclusion: is questioning such things a benefit or a harm, or perhaps a bit of both?
