Hi there! I came across this project and it perked my interest because it revolves around two domains I'm both passionate about and experienced in: Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing. I have about 3 years of experience working in ML and NLP. I mostly work in Python. I have worked with different NLP modules such as NLTK and SpaCy. I have a working knowledge of NLP concepts such as parsing, POS tagging, entity recognition, pattern matching, fuzzy matching, Word2Vec etc. In addition, I am also familiar with various Machine Learning concepts; classification, extraction, clustering, topic modeling, sentiment analysis etc.; and have used Python's scikit-learn module extensively. I have worked on sentiment analysis projects in the past, working in particular with Twitter data. I used different feature extraction approaches for this task, ranging from different embedding techniques like CountVectorizer, TF-IDF to more advanced ones such as Word2Vec and Doc2Vec. I also experimented with different text cleaning methods beforehand, as well as various different classification techniques (starting with RandomForest since that works really good in most cases, even with small datasets).
