Check Sharepoint if any updates are made using Python

I want a simple code written to check if my specific Sharepoint folder has been updated in the last week. If so, run my Python script. If not, then do not run Python script. Ideally, it would get automatically checked without me having to physically run the code every week. However, the first suggestion would be sufficient for now.
