I need someone reliable with a excellent written English and a hard working attitude to be our Public Relations Manager.
Your main role will be to respond to Help a Reporter Out (HARO) requests which will be sent to your inbox twice per day. You will need to respond to all relevant emails with a short bio on our CEO as well as stating how an interview with the CEO would benefit the reporter.
## Deliverables
As you know from doing a google search for "orgnot" and looking at our company website it's important for us to reach as many small businesses as possible to make a significant impact in their prosperity especially since a lot of these guys really need the help.
It's sometimes easy to think that the success of small businesses only affects the business owner but in reality it impacts their family, customers, vendors, employes as well as the families of the vendors and employees. That's why it's so important that we reach these guys, especially the businesses with bigger budgets since they will often have more employees and therefore more impact.
As a company we see it as our corporate mission to help as many of these businesses become more stable by having efficient marketing systems in place and thorough planning.
We recently dealt with a client who was a realtor, his company employed 24 people from the local community, in 2007 when his business got wiped out he had to let everybody go. He lived in a small town and this had a dramatic impact on the community.
When our consultants went in and looked at the systems and planning he had in place, well, there wasn't any. Had he been using an effective strategy those people would still have jobs and the growth he achieved would have allowed him to hire even more people making him and his business a positive force in the community rather than the negative force it turned out to be.
When a reporter shows interest you will then need to contact the CEOs Assistant to find out his schedule and book the appointment. You will then need to confirm with the reporter that they should call at the given time and will be expected.
All the information will be given to the respondents who we feel could do this job well only, so if I reply back with a lot of questions and info, that's a good thing!
The bid is for 250 responses, you will need to take a screenshot of the HARO request as well as the response you've written so I can verify the work and to make sure that the response is unique to that request.
You will be paid a bonus for every interview that appears in a major publication or high profile blog.
As I said before each response has to be unique and relevant, no copy and pasting allowed, these guys can see that a mile off.
You should also be sure to BCC our support email address (which you will be given - be sure to ask) so that we can see the emails being sent out in realtime.
In HARO you will only really be responding to requests in the Business & Finance section, but as you will see, not every request is suitable for our business so you must read carefully. Emails sent to irrelevant HARO requests will not be counted.
HARO sends out about 2 emails per day to your inbox, so the best way forward would be to sign up for a HARO account, but wait to do this as we will provide you with a corporate email address @[login to view URL] so that you look more professional. It will be setup to forward messages to your main email address so there will be no need to manage a separate inbox.
Please answer the following questions (number your answers, please) in any response you send whether it's a bid or a question, so I know you've been paying attention :)
1. How regularly do you check your email?
2. Have you ever worked with a social enterprise before?
3. Will you be able to do this type of work on a long term basis?
4. Have you ever done PR work before?
5. In between 50-100 words, tell me why you think PR is important?
I really look forward to your responses and adding another superstar to the OrgNot team!
