Having a WSN, we need to create clusters based on set cover where each set cover contains nodes that cover a set of targets. Two cluster heads are elected with highest energy among nodes. Nodes inside a cluster will be in active/sleep mode randomly (only one node will be active at the time + cluster head). The cluster heads (the two nodes) will interchange their role randomly. From time to time we need to check whether some of the nodes inside the same cluster have energy highest than that of the cluster head and the second cluster head. If it is the case, the cluster head will change to the new one. Nodes who want to communicate with base station, will use a path from head cluster to the base station. The path is determined based on Minimum cost flow algorithm, where cost represents the energy consumption along the path. The path with minimum energy will be chosen. the cost or energy on the link between two nodes is equals to energy consumed by the node sending the message plus energy used to receive the message.
