ReDesign and rebuild of existing multi pic popup modal

I want the design and build. This could lead to a total site redesign if you do good work.
The site has pictures with other pictures with them..... to view the pics they popup in a modal and user can then scroll through the pics one at at time in the modal. Only one pic is in view at any given time.
On the desktop and laptops and bigger tablets its fine how it is but mobile just seems wrong.
Need a more modern approach for mobile. It is a responsive site not an app.
I dont know what restraints the site will give but i thinking swiping action and fade in and out info bars for the info while everything is in full screen
