Project brief:
This project will involve developing a LAMP website that imports data from a URL hosting a CSV data feed file. The objective is to run daily updates on this file for the purposes of generating a store for cycling products on the fly. The phased approach is defined as follows:
Phase 1
1) Export products from a given URL (provided below)
2) Import into a MySQL table
Phase 2
1) PHP script to publish content under the following structure:
Category > Sub Category > Product Listing Page
The product listing page should display:
> Product image
> Product name (product_name)
> RRP Price (rrp_price)
> Price (base_price)
> Product description (product_short_description)
> Product link (aw_deep_link) – displayed as a “Buy Now” button, opens link in new window
> Brand (brand_name)
> Retailer (mechant_name)
> Category (category_name)
Conditions needed:
- If image is not present, do not display the product
- if price is not available, do not display the product
2) Category & Sub Category Mappings:
Brand (brand_name)
Retailer (merchant_name)
Category (category_name) – for this we will need to map duplicates under the following core structure: Road Bikes, Mountain Bikes
Sub Category: Bikes, Clothes, Components, Wheels & Tyres, Nutrition, Accessories (these can be reviewed)
3) > Provided a drop down navigation menu to all categories made in section 2 from the homepage
> Provide a search form for free text search of the product name and product description
