Get a Website Built

Individual component: Food finder is a system to allow you to find the food that you want from restaurants. For example you might ask it to find you somewhere that has Tagliatelle and Crème Brûlée and is within half a mile of the Jubilee Campus. Food Finder is operated as a web site, and it might be convenient if this web site could work on a mobile device. Your task is to design the web site. Your system must be usable by people of at least two user groups. We suggest a system using English and one other language to prove the concept, further languages should be easy to add. Feel free to email or speak to your tutors about your own ideas. You might want to start by adding just a small number (say 5) restaurants, with a limited set of dishes. The system should be extendable so that someone could easily add more restaurants and dishes. There is no need to write a web crawler to harvest menus form existing websites, manual data entry will be fine for now. We would expect to see a system that allows someone to try to find a meal using the system. It should allow selection of food types, and a data structure should exist that allows for different dishes at different restaurants. It should allow for maintenance of the data. The design aspect of the system should be comprehensive and demonstrated with a subset of functionality, as suggested below. Deliverables - Your design of the system using the theory we covered in class. - The report should explain your design choices and should contain: o Introduction o Analysis o Design o Description of prototype o Design diagrams of your choice - Screen shots should be included illustrating the following two use cases of the system: o 'Finding food X' o 'Getting to the restaurant' - A USB key containing a prototype of the system using HTML, SQL and PHP
