Build a web app to handle notes

Hello there. I just wanted to clarify a few things: 1. Does this app need any sort of user registration/login - or will it only be used by one person? 2. There's mention of being able to save and load workspaces, but no details about where these options/buttons would be. Do you have anything specific in mind? 3. Do you have any specific design requirements - or is this not important? Thanks in advance.

Hi there, I love working on projects like this one. I have read the descriptions and saw the image you've attached, everything is fully defined. I like the UX features you came up with so I don't have any improvements to suggest at the moment, I might get ideas as I work on it. My idea is to code this using HTML5 canvas and JavaScript. The DOM will be rather lean, probably a few div's and a canvas, and a textarea for note details section. JS would be clean and commented where needed, I would deliver it non obfuscated/minified. Backend which exposes the REST API, would be PHP, as requested. I usually use CodeIgniter framework, but am totally fine to go with core PHP, and feels right since the back end will be quite simple. Workspaces could be named, then saved and loaded. The changes to notes would be saved when the change is made for moving/resizing/linking notes, for editing the note and note details - it doesn't feel like a good approach to save on each keypress, I will probably throttle saving there and limit to max requests per second, but both would be saved when note is de-activated or the note details input loses focus.
