As your project description states, we can design and develop a two operator application using cloud storage to store database. Your need of marking attendance without calling out the name can be achieved by using the location of the user (i.e) the current location of the teacher is marked and similarly the location of the student is also registered. Then by the geofencing technique, we can mark attendance for the students available within a certain radius of distance. The database entry having a location of teacher and student are cleared periodically to avoid proxy attendace.

Most of them contain an attendance management component. Of course, I noticed you mentioned "minimalistic" so I will have to strip some of the more flashy UI components.
